About the Role

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of assigned projects. This role will see you take the lead on key civil, roads, and defence projects. You'll oversee all aspects, from commercial and financial management to leading project teams and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. The successful candidate will be willing to work across both Adelaide metro and regional SA project areas.

What You Will Do

  • Project Management:
    Monitor and review project progress, adjusting resources, finances, and schedules as needed to ensure successful delivery.
  • Commercial & Contract Management:
    Drive and support all contract activities, including managing contractors, reviewing claims and variations, and handling subcontractor agreements and invoices.
  • Team Leadership:
    Lead and manage the project team, conducting reviews and reporting on progress to senior management.
  • Financial Oversight:
    Control project costs against budget, monitor productivity, prepare reports, and manage project cashflow.
  • Stakeholder Relations:
    Maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders while ensuring industrial relations compliance.

What You Will Bring

  • 5 years of proven experience in major construction and infrastructure project delivery, preferably in civil engineering, roads, and/or defence.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering and/or Project Management.
  • Strong experience in contract administration and management.
  • Knowledge of the engineering industry and Australian Standards.
  • Proficiency in using project management software suites and ERP systems.
  • A strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Experience managing diverse roads and infrastructure projects.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to mentor and motivate teams to achieve high-stakes outcomes.
  • A strong safety and security focus with in-depth knowledge of health, safety, and defence compliance legislation.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence security clearance.
  • Experience in regional South Australia or working with defence agencies is a distinct advantage.
