Contract Opportunity – Hosting Manager (Data Centre / HCI Operations)

We're looking for an immediate start contract role, stepping into a Hosting Manager position within a large enterprise hosting environment. This role will suit someone who is confident leading operational maturity, enforcing production standards, and driving stability across hyper-converged infrastructure platforms.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead operational process establishment and improvement for hosting services.
  • Develop SOPs, runbooks, escalation paths, and enforce consistent production practices.
  • Provide technical leadership across compute, storage, networking, and virtualisation within the HCI stack.
  • Ensure environments are patched, monitored, secure, and operating to SLA.
  • Drive automation, tooling, and monitoring to reduce risk and manual intervention.
  • Oversee deployment and lifecycle management of VMware vSAN/NSX, Nutanix AHV, or Azure Stack HCI.
  • Collaborate with architecture/project teams for smooth transition into production.
  • Lead and mentor a distributed team of hosting engineers.
  • Embed security, risk, compliance, and DR/backup standards.
  • Build operational roadmaps and manage key technology vendors.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years in enterprise hosting / data centre operations.
  • Strong hands-on experience with HCI platforms (VMware, Nutanix, Azure Stack HCI or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to implement and enforce operational discipline in production environments.
  • Confident in virtualisation, storage virtualisation, and software-defined networking.
  • Background in leading offshore/distributed teams.
  • Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM frameworks and operational readiness.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and incident/escalation management skills.
  • Exposure to security and compliance (ISO27001, SOC, regulatory frameworks) is an advantage.
