Our services include Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Dietetics, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Social Work, Counselling, Audiology, Allied Health Assistance, Developmental Education, Exercise Physiology, Plan Management, NDIS Funding Application Assistance, Support Coordination, Household Tasks, Positive Behaviour Support and Support Worker Service.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychosocial Recovery Coach to join our growing team. This is a subcontractor position offering flexible working hours and excellent opportunities for professional development and career growth.
About the Role
As a Psychosocial Recovery Coach, you will empower individuals with psychosocial disabilities to build independence, resilience, and confidence in achieving their life goals. You will work closely with participants to support daily living, enhance mental health recovery, and promote community inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one, strengths-based coaching and community support to participants.
Support participants in building independence, coping strategies, and essential life skills.
Develop and implement personalised recovery plans aligned with participant goals and NDIS funding.
Help participants understand their NDIS plans, access appropriate services, and make informed decisions about their supports.
Facilitate social and community engagement to promote inclusion and emotional well-being.
Build and maintain positive, respectful, and collaborative relationships with participants and their support networks.
Handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.
Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development.
Ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, Language for Life policies, and confidentiality obligations.
Assist participants in crisis management and develop strategies to prevent escalation when necessary.
Advocate for participant rights and support self-advocacy.
About You
We are looking for a motivated, empathetic, and experienced Psychosocial Recovery Coach who is passionate about supporting individuals with psychosocial disabilities to lead fulfilling lives.
Essential Criteria:
Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or Mental Health, or similar training, and/or at least 2 years paid experience in supporting people with mental health challenges.
Strong understanding of mental health and psychosocial disability.
Familiar with recovery-oriented and person-centred practice.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills with a confident and compassionate approach.
Culturally competent and committed to providing inclusive and respectful support.
Solid understanding of NDIS plans, including interpreting goals and supporting participants to make informed choices about their supports.
Desirable Criteria:
Diploma of Community Services.
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or related discipline.
Additional Requirements:
Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
Professional indemnity insurance.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Valid Police Check.
NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Working with Children Check.
Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
Current Australian Driving License.
Location & Work Arrangement
In-Office Appointments – 118 Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing, VIC 3029.
Mobile Therapy – Providing assistance in preferred locations.
Remote Support – Conducting virtual consultations via Zoom
