Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Motor Mechanic to join our automotive family business. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. We are looking for someone that can deal with customers, quote jobs and run the workshop when the director is away.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in cars and light commercial vehicles.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake servicing.

  • Repair or replace faulty parts including engines, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and more.

  • Conduct vehicle inspections and provide accurate repair estimates.

  • Use diagnostic equipment and tools effectively.

  • Maintain accurate service records and reports.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Communicate with customers regarding repair needs and recommendations.

  • Qualifications and Skills:

    • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent (required).

    • Relevant trade qualification/licensing.

    • Fully qualified with experience a motor mechanic (preferred).

    • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to quote and handle customer queries.

    • Proficiency with mechanical and electronic tools and diagnostic equipment.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

    • Valid driver's license.
