Job Description:
Client is seeking an experienced TM1 System Administrator to join our Corporate Systems team, within the Digital and Technology Division. IBM Cognos TM1 / Planning Analytics is primarily used at Austrade for Financial Budgeting, Reporting and Forecasting (operational revenue and expenditure, capital expenditure). A TM1 System Administrator is a critical role within the Corporate Systems team, supporting key stakeholders such as the Finance teams, Offshore Corporate Services Network (CSN), Property team, and Digital and Technology Division with their budgeting and financial planning activities. The incumbent will possess a strong background and proven expertise to confidently administer and manage the TM1 system. This includes managing the system's day-to-day operations, ensuring its optimal performance, integrity and accuracy of financial data. This role also ensures stakeholder engagement is robust, providing ongoing professional expertise, guidance and support to TM1 users. The incumbent will work proactively, drive efficiency, alignment and consistency, and build trust with the TM1 stakeholder group.
Key duties and responsibilities:
The TM1 System Administrator responsibilities include:
• Enhance and streamline all processes and activities within TM1 in relation to budgets, financial forecasting and analysis for cross-functional business areas in collaboration with Finance team.
• Design, develop and maintain TM1 models, cubes, dimensions, and rules to support budgeting, forecasting and reporting obligations.
• Ensure financial modules are working effectively and efficiently, and that proper security is in place.
• Configure and maintain TM1 system components, including cubes, dimensions, and rules.
• Utilise Planning Analytics Workspace to develop interactive and user-friendly dashboards and reports, enabling stakeholders to access and analyse financial data efficiently.
• Prepare data sets, statistical reports, and applications to support Finance, budgeting and planning activities.
• Finalise End of Month (EoM) processes accurately in TM1, adhering to the End of Month timetable mandated by the External and Internal Budgets team and other advisers across offshore network teams, includes archiving results for each month, when the period is closed.
• Build and administer End of Financial Year and Mid-Year budget in TM1, including upload to SAP.
• Management of user access controls, Cost Centres, GLs, Company Codes and Cost Centre Managers, including creation/amendment of reporting lines.
• TM1 excel templates technical support, troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues in a t imely manner.
• Recording of Management Representation Letters (MRLs), FBT Returns, Travel and Credit Card Breaches in TM1, as mandated by the Chief Executive Instructions.
• Partner with IT to perform periodic updates and system enhancements to ensure its efficiency and reliability.
• Integrate data from various sources into TM1 for analysis and reporting purposes.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity is always maintained within the system, and systems TM1 integrates with (e.g. Aurion, SAP).
• Recommend and implement enhancements to optimise TM1 utilisation.
Essential Criteria:
• Demonstrated TM1 system administration, technical experience (3-5 years) with understanding of TM1 architecture, including cubes, dimensions, rules, use of TM1 Web and other reporting tools.
• Strong experience with building and managing Budgets (End of Financial Year, Mid-Year) in TM1, including providing required ongoing administrative support to business areas.
• Demonstrated proficiency in accurately finalising End of Month and End of Financial Year processes within TM1.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, providing first-line support in troubleshooting TM1 user issues, along with a capability to analyse and interpret complex data sets, resolving data accuracy issues.
• Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders to gather their requirements and provide updates.
Desirable Criteria:
• Relevant TM1 certifications such as IBM Certified Developer- Cognos TM1 10.1 or similar credentials and/or training.
• Experience in building, maintaining and/or enhancing the Capital and Property modules, in TM1.
• Knowledge or experience with integrating TM1 with other systems and databases (e.g. knowledge of TM1 integration with SAP and/or Aurion).
