A position is open for a medical receptionist to join our friendly and hardworking front desk team We are a busy 7 Doctor mixed-billing practice located in Albany Creek. The reception team is focused on providing exceptional care for our patients, and outstanding support for our doctors & clinical staff.

We are looking for a medical receptionist who is reliable, hard-working, and committed to growth. Our reception team is the heart of the clinic, so it is essential to possess a warm, friendly & professional manner at all times.

Previous experience in general practice is not essential, but highly advantageous. You will need to be a fast learner, computer-savvy, and have a genuine interest in healthcare/general practice. Full training & support by Practice Manager and Senior Receptionists will be provided.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience of at least 12 months in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of Best Practice software highly advantageous
  • High level of organisation and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Able to work harmoniously in a team environment
  • Demonstrate initiative, time management and flexibility
  • Professional appearance and mature mindset
  • Flexibility in working hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (morning) shifts plus additional holiday coverage if required
  • Start date: from 27 October 2025

Key responsibilities:

  • Scheduling appointments, both over the phone and in-person
  • Billing & processing payments in accordance with practice procedures
  • Sorting incoming correspondence and requests
  • Liaising with patients, staff and doctors
  • Maintaining patient privacy & confidentiality
  • Opening and closing of the practice
  • End of day banking & reconciliation
  • All other administrative duties as required

Remuneration:

  • Award: Health Professional and Support Services (MA000027)
  • Hourly rate of pay will be commensurate with experience
  • Casual: approx hours per week (rotational Saturdays) - option for PPT conversion after successful probation period
  • Superannuation: In accordance with the relevant legislation
