About the role

As a Medical Receptionist at the Port Curtis Medical Centre, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to ensure the smooth running of our busy medical practice. This is a casual role based in our Gladstone QLD 4680 location.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing a warm and friendly welcome to patients, both in person and on the phone
  • Scheduling appointments and managing the practice's appointment calendar
  • Handling patient inquiries and directing them to the appropriate healthcare provider
  • Processing patient registrations, updating medical records, and maintaining confidentiality
  • Assisting with the coordination of patient referrals and test results
  • Performing general administrative duties, including filing, photocopying, and ordering supplies
  • Adhering to all practice policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

  • Experience in a medical practice, preferably have experience with Best Practice Medical software.
  • Previous experience in a medical reception or customer service role, ideally within a healthcare setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Proficient in using medical software and administrative systems
  • A caring, empathetic, and professional demeanour
  • A team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively
