The Piercing Urge is Melbourne's leading body-piercing studio — known for safety, quality, and an exceptional client experience. We're looking for a sharp, level-headed Front of House Assistant to keep the studio running smoothly and help drive the next stage of our growth.

This isn't a typical reception or retail role. It's for someone who thrives in organised chaos — who can keep ten things moving at once without losing composure, genuinely cares about clients, and knows how to turn hesitation into confidence (and confidence into a sale).

What You'll Do

  • Run the front of house like a control tower — manage bookings, walk-ins, calls, emails, and piercer schedules with accuracy and calm
  • Deliver an outstanding client experience from greeting to aftercare
  • Read people fast — turn curiosity into commitment through genuine, confident recommendations
  • Keep the day flowing: anticipate problems, solve them early, and keep everyone on time
  • Maintain high standards of presentation, safety, and organisation
  • Work closely with the owner to test new systems and improve processes
  • Protect a healthy, drama-free culture — and be part of the reason it stays that way

Experience Required:

Previous experience in customer service and sales roles is essential. Experience in the body-piercing industry is not required — we'll provide full training in our systems, jewellery, and processes.

Please note: This role is not an apprenticeship and is not a pathway to becoming a body piercer. It is a dedicated Front of House and Operations position focused on client experience and studio coordination.


Hours & Details
  • Permanent part-time (2 days per week)
  • Occasional extra shifts available; potential to expand as the role develops
  • Must be available weekends and public holidays
  • Based in our Prahran studio
  • $33 per hour
