Lived Experience Worker – Better Homes Better Health
0.4 FTE | Fixed Term until 31 December 2026 | SACS Level 4

Prahran (with some travel to other sites)

At Better Health Network (BHN), we're looking for a passionate Lived Experience Worker to join our Better Homes Better Health program.

This meaningful role supports residents of the Horace Petty Estate through their relocation journey, helping them stay connected to health, wellbeing, and community services during this time of transition.

You'll work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team alongside local community groups, service providers, and BHN staff to create real, positive change for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use your lived experience of public or social housing to build trust and engagement with residents.
  • Facilitate one-on-one discussions, small groups, and community events to support relocation and wellbeing.
  • Identify residents' health and wellbeing needs and connect them with appropriate services.
  • Collaborate with community leaders, organisations, and BHN teams to improve service outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous service improvement.

About You

  • Lived experience of public housing, social housing, rooming houses, or homelessness.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Passionate about improving housing experiences and empowering residents.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Hold current working rights in Australia.
