We are seeking a Principal Security Engineer / Consultant to join our team to be part of an Essential 8 Application and Infrastructure security uplift initiative. This position will require you to uplift the environment from maturity level 0 to maturity level 3 by providing expertise through consultation and implementation & engineering activities across the clients endpoint, network security, identity platforms and Azure environments

Typical Duties

  • Lead the implementation of PSPF, E8, ISO27001, and NIST aligned controls across infrastructure and applications
  • provide hands on engineering and advisory support across endpoint, network, identity, and cloud platforms
  • Ensure alignment to E8 framework
  • Make recommendations and changes to security controls where required
  • Oversee, consult, advise and engineer network segmentation, firewall policies, IPS/IDP, and secure connectivity changes
  • Provide advisory and engineering capability to uplift endpoint protection, policy enforcement, and privileged access management
  • Perform secure deployments and configuration of cloud workloads where required

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience as a Security Engineer or Consultant participating in Essential 8 security uplift initiatives
  • Strong understanding of PSPF, E8, ISO27001, NIST, and ISM maturity frameworks
  • Technical capabilities with hybrid infrastructure (Cisco, End point security, network segmentation, firewalls, IPS/IDS, PIM, PAM) and Azure cloud
  • Industry certification such as CISSP, CISM
  • Australian Citizenship or security clearance is highly desired
