Engage Marine are committed to leading change in the way marine solutions are delivered.About the roleWe are currently looking for a qualified Pilot Boat Master to join on a full-time permanent basis in support of our contract for services in Abbot Point. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the Pilot Boat in accordance with Engage Marine Group policies and procedures as well as legislative and state requirements.The Pilot Boat Master is also responsible for the effective management and ongoing leadership of the vessel crew.Please note that to be successful, qualified persons must live in the greater Bowen area or be prepared to relocate at their own expense.Role ResponsibilitiesSafe navigation of the vessel at all times.Take appropriate action as necessary to protect:i. The safety of all personnel on board.ii. The integrity of the vessel and surrounding assets.iii. The environment.iv. The continued operations of the Client's Facilities.Management of safety hazards and PPE onboard the vessel with appropriate reviews and risk assessments.Undertaking reviews of procedures and systems as required to assist in the continuous development of the company.Ensuring Vessel manning requirements are managed appropriately.Ensuring that the provisions of the International Collision Prevention regulations are adhered to, and that operation is conducted with the observance of the highest standards of seamanship.Ensuring that charts and publications in use on board are current and up to date according to the latest "Notice to Mariners".Taking all reasonable steps to ensure that navigational instruments and communication systems are correctly serviced and functional.Ensure statutory and other drills are carried outSafe bunkering and ensuring that pre-bunkering checklists are adhered to and that communications and bunkering plans are in place.Ensuring the vessel's statutory and class certificates are current and all surveys are up to date.Ensuring fire and safety equipment is maintained/serviced as required to meet the survey.Ensuring the watertight integrity of all hatches, vents and doors meets class requirements, and ensuring that accesses, ladders, rails, and companionways are maintained to class requirements.Upkeep of the deck logbook, statutory records, and any other documents or data that may be required by the Company or the Client.Ensuring Cyclone preparedness and suitable mooring of the vessel in adverse weather or at any time as required by the Company or Client.Comply with regulatory and site-specific training requirements including the induction and training of other personnel and visitors on-board.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum qualification of
