About the organisation
RSPCA Victoria is a community-based, non-government, not-for-profit dedicated to its vision of 'ending cruelty to all animals'. It is Victoria's most respected animal welfare organisation. The organisation's purpose is to achieve outstanding animal welfare through education, advocacy, animal care, and protection, in collaboration with the community. With dedicated staff and volunteers, RSPCA Victoria Works across animal care centres, veterinary clinics, community outreach and education and inspectorate services to deliver outstanding animal welfare through care, advocacy, and education.
About the role
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Operations reports to the CEO and leads RSPCA Victoria's core service areas: Veterinary services, adoption and shelter services and Inspectorate. You will drive strategic and operational excellence, foster a high-performance team culture, and lead service model improvements that enhance outcomes for animals, the community, and our people to support the delivery of RSPCA Victoria's 2030 strategy.
About you
You are a purpose-driven, strategic leader with a strong track record in leading operational teams, ideally within animal welfare or a related sector. You excel at driving service improvements, inspiring high-performing teams, and aligning operations with strategic goals. Commercially astute and values-led, you balance business priorities with a deep commitment to animal welfare and the health and wellbeing of our people. With a solid grasp of regulatory frameworks and sector dynamics.
You are adept at leading and developing diverse teams to achieve high levels of performance and job satisfaction. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills enable you to build strong, positive relationships and partnerships with a variety of key stakeholders, including State and Local Governments and other animal welfare organisations. You are a collaborative problem-solver who can thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
