The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate to join our Banking and Finance Mortgage Transactional (Advance) Team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead complex mortgage and banking transactions while working closely with a high-performing team of lawyers and paralegals.

You will manage a portfolio of high-value transactions, provide strategic advice to clients, and play an active role in developing junior team members. The position also offers the opportunity to contribute to the firm's business development initiatives and future growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex mortgage and banking transactions, including syndicated loans, acquisition finance, asset finance, and structured finance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate sophisticated loan and security documentation.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to a portfolio of high-profile clients.
  • Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and paralegals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Contribute to business development and client relationship initiatives.

About You

  • Minimum 5 years' PQE with strong experience in mortgage and banking transactions.
  • Demonstrated technical excellence and understanding of Australian mortgage and banking regulations (including PEXA and Leap).
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Proven track record of building client relationships at a senior level.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
