What is the Role?

As a final year tertiary student in 2026, gain paid work experience one day per week, to learn about teaching in a Christian school. This is a contract position commencing Week 1, Term The Internship is one-day-per-week, throughout terms. The programme has been designed to be completed around your final year of study, to provide you with the opportunity to be a part of the St Andrew's Cathedral School community and to learn about teaching in a Christian school. As an Intern, you will be provided with:

  • a dedicated Mentor Teacher
  • support and oversight of the programme(s) by the School Coordinator
  • collegial weekly Intern meetings, including devotionals, professional discussions about the development of teaching practice, and reflections on the progression of your individual teaching goals.
  • Paid opportunities to attend relevant Professional Learning

Who will the successful applicant be?

  • A tertiary student in their final year in 2026 (Bachelor or Master of Education/ Teaching)
  • Possess a genuine interest to learn about teaching in a Christian School
  • Able to demonstrate a growing knowledge of recent developments in the theory and practice of pedagogy.
  • Display outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers
  • Expected to understand and have a commitment to the School's Christian mission, values and ethos.
