The Counsellor is responsible for creating a caring College environment which recognises the diversity of our students. They will be responsible for raising the profile of student support services across the college and increase the help-seeking behaviours and mental health awareness of students. The Counselling team, along with the Social Worker team, will be responsible for providing counselling to students on welfare matters, the development of programs and services which promote the well-being of students, provide students with the knowledge and understanding of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment disclosures and reporting, liaison with academic staff, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on student support needs, referral and advocacy.

**Qualifications**:

- A relevant Master’s degree and/or formal counselling qualification, combined with substantial relevant work experience
- Membership or eligibility to be a member with a Professional body eg PACFA, ACA, APAC, APS, AASW
- Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of student support programs for students, preferably in a tertiary environment
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to consult, counsel and liaise with a wide range people from culturally diverse backgrounds
