BAS Agent Bookkeeper

We're Hiring – Registered BAS Agent - Immediate Start

Our bookkeeping practice is based in the South Eastern Suburbs of Victoria. We are a fast-paced, client-focused business offering Bookkeeping, BAS & Payroll services to over 160 clients from a variety of industries across Australia, working both remotely and on-site.

Our passion is to provide our clients with the best service possible and to do whatever it is we can to make their lives easier.

We are currently seeking a Qualified BAS Agent Bookkeeper to join our team.

The Role:

• Full-Time Position
• Office Locations are in Berwick and Rosebud. Expectation to work between both when required.
• Will need to be able to go on-site to clients when necessary
• On-site training in Berwick and Rosebud
• Laptop will be provided

The Ideal Candidate:

• Registered BAS Agent with a strong bookkeeping background (minimum 3 years' experience).
• Confident processing payroll, accounts payable and receivable, BAS/IAS lodgements, portable long service leave, payroll tax, and apprenticeship claims.
• Loves working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment with a proven ability to follow processes and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working independently.
• Confident assisting and teaching non BAS Agent bookkeepers.
• Positive, proactive, and keen to embrace the changes that are happening with AI.
• Open to implementing new integrations, new software platforms and create new efficiencies to streamline the way we work.
• Professional, an excellent communicator who is passionate about building strong client relationships.
• High Knowledge of Xero
• Is used to juggling multiple tasks for different clients in different industries at the same time.
• Has had experience in a similiar role managing multiple businesses bookkeeping at once. You could work on 10 different clients from 10 different industries each day.
• Is great with technology as we strive to keep everything in the cloud.
• Enjoy's working quickly - they thrive off getting stuff done fast but also accurately
• Loves a good task list to tick off as they go throughout the day
• Experience in an automotive dealership or experience with automotive industry software as a bookkeeper is favourable but not necessary.

As a Registered BAS Agent, your responsibilities may include:

• Providing end to end bookkeeping services including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations.
• Providing accurate financial reporting and compliance advice to clients
• Preparing and lodging BAS, IAS, and other ATO compliance reports
• Managing STP finalisations, TPAR lodgements, and other statutory requirements
• Superannuation and SG Charge Statement reporting.
• ADMS, Payroll Tax & Portable Long Service Leave Lodgements

• Providing services using Xero, Quickbooks, Employment Hero, Tanda and other accounting/payroll software programs.

• Overseeing GST and PAYG compliance

• Reviewing bookkeeping work completed by the team for accuracy and compliance
• Liaising directly with the ATO and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and industry changes

The candidate will be adaptable to work across multiple platforms and be open to developing skills within industry-specific software such as EasyCars & Eclipse for automotive inventory control, Vicroads for automotive industry registration transactions, Cliniko for medical industry specific bookkeeping etc
