Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the incumbent is responsible for managing and processing vendor invoices, employee expenses and payments in an accurate, and timely manner. The incumbent works closely with internal departments and vendors to ensure financial transactions comply with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. The incumbent ensures appropriate reports and responses are provided to management, staff and vendors to support the organisational objectives.

Role:

  • Under the direction of the Financial Accountant, develop and maintain account transaction related information and records on accounts paid and payable.
  • Ensure ease and timeliness by matching of purchase orders and accounts can be made.
  • Monitor supporting payment documentation for completeness and accuracy of creditor details, including GST amounts and ensure that only properly authorised transactions are included in payment runs.
  • Process invoices received for payment through the Accounts Payable system, in accordance with Company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce and monitor control reports as required.
  • Reconcile supplier statements on a cyclical basis.
  • Responding to internal / external accounts inquires (email and phone).
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Successful Candidate:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or relevant experience.
  • Experience in accounts payable and in coordinating the payables function.
  • Previous experience using ERP software (SAP B1).
  • Well-developed Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to meet time constraints.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • A flexible approach to new tasks with a can do attitude.
