About the role:
The purpose of the Accounts Payable Officer is to provide support for AMES Australia's outgoing financial obligations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payments to suppliers, clients, and staff.
To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:
- Minimum of Diploma in Finance or related field AND
- At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in an Accounts Payable or financial processing role
- Sound knowledge of accounting procedures within an accounts payable environment, including reconciliations, compliance, and financial controls
- Strong technical skills: advanced data entry, use of financial/ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Well-developed organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer service orientation and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Commitment to continuous improvement, process efficiency, and upholding AMES Australia's values of integrity, reliability, teamwork, and professionalism
- Knowledge of government accounting procedures would be highly regarded
- Experience using Finance One Accounting system is highly regarded
- Familiarity with AMES Australia finance systems and processes is highly regarded
