Our new Bass Strait Airport Bar & Tasting Room brings this story to life — serving locals, travellers and visitors a premium island experience that blends fine food, cocktails and warm hospitality.


The Opportunity

We're seeking a passionate Café Bar All-Rounder to join our island team — someone who thrives on connecting with people, takes pride in every coffee and cocktail served, and wants to embrace a truly unique lifestyle on King Island.

This is a hands-on hospitality role perfect for someone with experience as both a barista and bartender, and a love for quality ingredients, authentic service, and community spirit.


What You'll Do
  • Prepare consistently excellent coffee, beverages and light food service
  • Mix and present cocktails using King Island Distillery's award-winning spirits
  • Share the King Island Distillery story with guests and visitors
  • Manage tasting sessions and product knowledge with professionalism and warmth
  • Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and customer service
  • Assist with day-to-day operations including stock control and merchandising

About You

You'll fit right in if you:

  • Have previous barista and/or bar experience
  • Hold a current RSA
  • Are confident, reliable and take initiative in a fast-paced, boutique environment
  • Enjoy engaging with customers and telling the story behind great local products
  • Have an interest in fine food, spirits and cocktails
  • Value teamwork, pride in presentation and genuine hospitality
  • Are open to island life — slower pace, stronger community, stunning environment
