Due to continued growth, they are seeking a
Field Network Engineer
to support their NSW client base. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in the field, configuring and troubleshooting equipment, and being the face of the technical team on-site.
About the Role:
This position will focus on the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of network and network security infrastructure. You'll be responsible for racking and stacking hardware, performing installations, resolving connectivity issues, and ensuring systems are operating optimally.
You'll work closely with internal engineers and project teams, providing on-site support to clients and contributing to the successful delivery of national network projects. Occasional interstate travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot network and security hardware such as switches, routers, and firewalls
- Perform racking, stacking, cabling, and site preparation for network deployments
- Support implementation and maintenance of vendor technologies including Cisco, Aruba, and Fortinet
- Diagnose and resolve network performance and connectivity issues
- Document site work, configurations, and changes accurately
- Collaborate with project teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable network solutions
About You:
- Hands-on experience as a Field Network Engineer, Network Technician, or similar role
- Strong technical skills in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco, Aruba, or Fortinet network equipment
- Knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall configuration
- Understanding of cabling standards (CAT6, fiber) and physical network setup
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, NSE, or equivalent experience
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in the field
