Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Program Director - Operational Technology Communications. The Program Director will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific projects, ensuring they align with the company's strategic goals. Day-to-day tasks will include managing project teams, facilitating development and integration of IT solutions, setting IT strategy, leading program management, and ensuring seamless communication within the team and with stakeholders. The Program Director will also provide pivotal leadership to drive initiatives and deliver successful business outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and implement program management practices, including tracking, reporting, and risk & issue escalation frameworks.
  • Define and manage governance structures, key forums, agendas, and meeting cadences to ensure alignment with Digital Leadership and Line of Business delivery teams.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of decisions, action items, and follow-ups arising from governance forums.
  • Clearly articulate and align roles and responsibilities between the Program Manager and individual Loop Project Managers.
  • Set up and oversee the central procurement process.
  • Provide oversight of Communications team timesheets and related processes.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and PMs to escalate project-specific issues, misalignments, and provide timely insights for informed decision-making.
  • Build a thorough understanding of Loop project interdependencies and drive cross-team clarity.
  • Support scope, timing, and budget revisions for Loop projects through structured processes.
  • Develop and execute a change management plan, covering business communications, documentation, and training for field teams.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of technology impacts and the Communications roadmap, actively contributing to planning future technology iterations.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and drive effective, sometimes difficult working sessions to facilitate decision-making, and follow-through actions to successful implementation
  • Concise, impactful written and verbal communication

Your skills and experience

  • Naturally curious, a fast learner, and able to simplify complexity while continuously iterating solutions.
  • Strong track record of delivering results, balancing customer focus with stakeholder expectations.
  • Experienced Program or Portfolio Director, with a demonstrated history of managing complex digital portfolios worth $30M+.
  • Expertise in large-scale telecommunications technology rollouts, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Hands-on experience in MPLS-TP implementations is highly desirable; alternatively, a strong understanding of the technology is required.
  • Proven capability in managing projects from concept through to benefits realization, including budgeting, resource planning, risk management, facilitation, and reporting.
  • Skilled in balancing technical solution oversight with managing business impacts and stakeholder alignment.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, able to influence senior executives with clear, data-driven decision support and executive-level presentations.
  • Commercial acumen, with experience managing vendors and delivery partners, focusing on cost control, accountability, and delivering expected benefits.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification, and formal project/program management certification (PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent) is desirable.
