Partner with local churches and community services to bring our vision to life in the Far North QLD and Townsville region.

About this role

This is a unique opportunity to join our established and empowering Regional Engagement Partner team in a part-time capacity (3 days/week). Based in the Far North Queensland/ Townsville region, this role supports the alignment of all Churches of Christ services—local churches, care services, and community programs—around our mission, vision, and values.

You'll play a key role in uniting churches, leaders, and services through meaningful relationships and regional planning that responds to local needs. You'll also engage in ministry, provide leadership coaching, and support faith development across the region.

As Regional Engagement Partner, you will:

  • Lead the implementation of Regional Action Plans in collaboration with churches and care services
  • Identify and activate local missional opportunities aligned with our strategic direction
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local churches, community leaders, and partner organisations
  • Engage in hands-on ministry, including preaching and teaching in local church contexts
  • Coach and support church and community leaders to grow in mission, ministry, and alignment
  • Contribute to strategic planning, evaluation and reporting at a regional level
  • Represent Churches of Christ in the region, promoting our mission and advancing our reputation
  • Work collaboratively with peers and leaders across the organisation to shape culture and shared outcomes

What you can bring to the team

You'll be someone who thrives in relationship-building, is confident in ministry and preaching, and has experience working with churches and community services. Your ability to earn trust, work collaboratively, and drive Christ-centred regional engagement will be essential.

You will have:

  • Strong experience with and understanding of local churches
  • Relational and networking skills across a broad range of stakeholders
  • Confidence teaching the Christian faith and preaching in churches
  • Ability to coach, encourage, and support other leaders
  • Experience in caring services or the not-for-profit sector (highly regarded)
  • Endorsement (or ability to be endorsed) as a Ministering Person with Churches of Christ

Possess or willingness to obtain;

  • Possess a current National Police Certificate
  • Possess Working with Children (Blue Card)
