Procurement Officer - APS5/6 Equivalent

Are you an experienced Procurement professional looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to support a high-profile federal government division on a contract basis.

This role will see you managing procurement activities end-to-end, with exposure to complex government frameworks, compliance, and contract management. You'll be joining a dynamic team where your initiative and expertise will play a key role in delivering successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage procurement activities, providing advice and support for labour hire and broader procurement processes.
  • Prepare procurement documentation, including approvals, evaluation outcomes, funding commitments, and contract arrangements.
  • Administer tender documentation through AusTender.
  • Manage contracts, supplier relationships, extensions, renewals, and close-out processes.
  • Create and manage supplier contracts and purchase orders within SAP.
  • Support corporate records management, mailbox management, and invoice processing.
  • Provide policy advice to ensure compliance with government legislation, rules, and procurement frameworks.
  • Undertake contract administration and reporting with a high level of accuracy.
  • Contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement in procurement practices.
Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in government procurement.
  • Strong understanding of the PGPA Act and complex procurement requirements.
  • Proven experience in contract management and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and oversee procurement and tender documentation.
  • Experience with SAP or similar financial/procurement systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Security Clearance:

A current NV1 (Negative Vetting Level 1) Security Clearance or higher is essential.
