This company is a highly successful and growing Australian Financial Services firm who employ circa 200 staff.
Listed on the ASX, they invest in and manage a diversified range of assets and are currently in a high growth phase due to several significant acquisitions.
Their flat organisational structure and minimal red tape allows you to deliver meaningful impacts to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Group Technology Manager, you'll manage a small internal IT team and be accountable for ensuring the ongoing delivery and improvement of IT Services to the organisation and its sub-companies.
With many IT Services being outsourced to external providers, a considerable element of the role involves external IT vendor management and relationships building.
It's a hands-on, forward thinking, and interactive role in flat organisational structure, involving significant collaboration with senior stakeholders to continuously align IT to business objectives.
Full time in office role.
Responsibilities:
- External Vendor Management:
extensive relationship building with and management of external IT Providers who deliver IT Managed Services and Managed Security Services (incl Managed SOC). - Operational Excellence:
accountable for IT Service Delivery - ensuring the availability, reliability, performance, and security of all IT systems and infrastructure (Azure & Microsoft 365) - IT Strategy:
in collaboration with external IT Providers, develop and implement the IT Roadmap for ongoing and future needs (including Cyber Security). - Security Program oversight
- managing the overall security framework and strategy, ensuring controls are implemented to industry best practice, and continually improving cybersecurity maturity level.
- IT Project Management
: take a lead role in the planning and execution of IT projects and initiatives. - Incident & Change Management
: managing incident response and change management processes. - Architecture Oversight
: Design and align solutions and enterprise architecture for group-wide initiatives. - Budget Management
: work with the Head of Shared Services to develop and manage IT Budgets for ongoing and future needs. - M&A / Integrations
- leading M&A activity as the IT Workstream Lead.
- Team Leadership
: manage and develop a small internal IT team - 1x End User Support Analyst
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, PERSONAL QUALITIES
Suited for an IT Manager (or similar) professional with background operating in small to mid-sized yet complex environments requiring extensive external IT vendor management.
Ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced and busy environments that will utilize their organizational skills and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels to align IT with business objectives.
Required background & experience:
- Experience
: proven IT leadership experience within small to mid-sized yet complex organisational structures, encompassing cloud infrastructure, end user computing, cybersecurity, and IT project management. - Proven track record
: demonstrated success managing external IT vendors to deliver IT services that enable business objectives. - Big picture & forward thinking
: ability to understand changing business requirements, anticipate future tech needs, and translate these into actionable roadmaps / deliverables. - Stakeholder management & communication
: ability to translate technical IT concepts into an easily understandable manner while confidently engaging with stakeholders at all levels. - External vendor management
: proven experience forming relationships with and managing IT Service Delivery from external IT providers. - Industry experience
: within Financial Services and/or Professional Services (or similar) is preferred. Attitude & personality:

Enjoys operating in small IT teams being hands-on to project manage IT outcomes.
Natural collaborator who thrives proactively engaging with others to understand/solve their IT issues.

Comfortable with a full time in office role.
This is full time permanent role located in the Sydney CBD and is offering $
160,000 - $178,571
(
plus super) + 10% bonus potential - depending on experience.
