Red Desert Cooling & Electrical is a fast-growing, family-owned service business based in Kalgoorlie. We're proud of our reputation for quality workmanship, a young and motivated team, and a progressive approach to customer service and workplace culture.

We're now seeking a hands-on Electrical Operations Manager to oversee our day-to-day electrical operations, improve business efficiency, and support our team as we continue to scale.

This is a key leadership role for someone with a strong electrical background who thrives in a fast-paced, service-focused environment and has a passion for leading people and delivering results.

This role

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee scheduling, job allocation and team coordination across electrical works

  • Provide electrical support to the refrigeration side of the business where required

  • Leads, quoting and estimation on mid-sized to larger electrical projects

  • Manage project delivery, procurement, and provide technical support during execution

  • Drive workflow efficiency through systems, team communication, and scheduling

  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks in service delivery

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop apprentices and field technicians

  • Assist in KPI tracking and support performance reviews

  • Work closely with the Director to implement improvements across operations

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in operations, team leadership, and scheduling in an electrical or technical services environment

  • WA Electrical License (mandatory)

  • Cert IV Instrumentation and HV Switching tickets (highly regarded)

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • A proactive mindset and leadership style that promotes accountability and teamwork

  • Experience with SimPRO or similar service management platforms

  • Western Australian Contractors / nominee tickets not essential however are an advantage.

Location & Flexibility

This role would ideally suit a Kalgoorlie-based candidate who is looking to lead a respected local team and make a long-term impact.
However, we welcome applications from Perth-based professionals willing to travel and spend a minimum of one week per month in Kalgoorlie.
Relocation assistance, including short-term accommodation support, is available for the right candidate looking to move to the region.
