Northern Trade Solutions (NTSNT) has been providing the Northern Territory building industry with a comprehensive range of building and fit out services since 2010. About the role

Applicants will need to be trade qualified as either Welder or Metal Fabricator.

If you are not qualified, but can work at a tradesman's level, you will need recent and comprehensive work history, working as a fabricator / welder.

You will be working on a wide variety of projects at the workshop or install on site.

Job description


• Studying blueprints, drawings and specification to determine job requirements


• Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock


• Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines


• Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering


• Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments


• Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting


• Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision


• Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions


• Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding


• Operate and maintain the equipment, including but not limited to lathes, mills, drill press, press-breaks, shears, and cutting tables.


• Installation of fabricated metalworks onsite in accordance with the project documentation


• Performing quality checks on completed products.


• Conforming with state and company safety regulations

Skills and experience


• Trade qualification


• Minimum 3 years experience working in industry


• Aluminium, Steel and Stainless Steel experience


• Ability to work follow the drawings


• Can work at work shop and construction site


• Ability to work independent and both in a team

Full Time hours: (38 ordinary hours/wk + 7hrs guaranteed overtime/wk)

Annual Salary - $27 - $45 per/hr depending on experience

Minimum $76,515 + Super

Pay: $76,515 – $85,000.00 per year
