About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Administrator to join our Sydney team. This role provides essential support to the HR function and the wider business, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, compliance with policies, and a professional, welcoming office environment. You'll assist across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding and contracts through to records management and compliance - while also contributing to HR projects and office administration. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their HR career in a fast-paced, collaborative workplace.

Key Responsibilities

HR Administration & Support

  • Provide administrative support across all HR functions, including onboarding, offboarding, employment contracts, leave management, and employee records.
  • Maintain accurate employee data across systems and documentation, ensuring compliance and consistency.
  • Support HRIS updates, implementation, and process improvements.
  • Assist with HR reporting and ensure compliance with employment legislation (Australia & UK).

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate recruitment administration, including interview scheduling, reference checks, and onboarding paperwork.
  • Ensure new employees have a smooth and professional onboarding experience.

Employee Support

  • Act as a point of contact for employee queries, escalating as required.
  • Support HR initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement projects.

 Office Operations

  • Assist with day-to-day office running, including vendor management, ordering supplies, and ensuring a safe and well-presented workplace.

Essential Capabilities & Experience
  • Proven experience in a HR administration or operational HR support role.
  • Hands-on experience supporting or coordinating HRIS implementation or upgrades.
  • Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Confident communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, "can-do" attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with the ability to adapt to new systems quickly.
  • Comfortable working across a broad range of HR tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus Points For
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as Employment Hero, Rippling, or similar.
  • Experience with Confluence and/or JIRA.
  • Prior exposure to recruitment coordination or working with hiring managers.
  • Ability to identify and improve inefficiencies in processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with Australian employment legislation and HR compliance requirements.
    Experience working in a small or growing business with evolving processes.
  • Involvement in process improvement or documentation projects.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Human Resource Management, or related/applicable fields (e.g., Psychology, Law).
