Hawkins Transport QLD is looking for a Freight Handler/ Administrator to join our Mount Isa Depot.

This role is a mix of administration and hands-on freight handling — ideal for someone who enjoys variety, works well in a team, and can switch between the office and the yard with ease.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and dispatch freight, ensuring accuracy of deliveries and collections
  • Operate a forklift for loading and unloading general and refrigerated freight
  • Prepare and process consignment notes, freight labels, and manifests
  • Complete data entry and maintain freight records using Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Communicate with customers and drivers regarding freight movements and schedules
  • Keep the depot organised, safe, and compliant with company procedures
  • Assist with general administration tasks and provide support to the Depot Manager

What You'll Need:

  • Current Forklift Licence (required)
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence- Manual (higher licences an advantage)
  • Previous experience in freight handling or depot operations
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to safe work practices
