We are seeking an experienced Building Supervisor (Insurance Repairs) to join our growing South Australian team. The role fulltime (42.5hrs), Monday through Friday, from 7:30 - 4:30pm will work both from the Rose Park office, and home (if desired), plus job site visits.

CRA will provide the successful applicant with a Microsoft Surface and work from home setup, vehicle, and phone. Staff training is paid, and employees have access to a funded Employee Assistance Program.

About You

CRA are in search of a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team We are seeking someone who can combine attention to detail and knowledge of the building industry, with an empathetic, calm approach and a can-do attitude. Working from home at times, the ability to work independently, whilst still fostering a team mentality, is a must.

A proficiency for navigating web-based portals is a key asset for this role, as we operate in a digital environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work with diverse technologies, whilst possessing a knack for clear and effective written and verbal communication. We are seeking someone who is meticulous in their work, ensuring accuracy, precision, and ability to work to timeframes, KPIs and as per insurance Product Disclosure Statements.

The Role

This position will:

  • Work collaboratively with our office-based Repair Coordinators and other workgroups to supervise insurance building repair works.
  • Attend sites to supervise insurance repair jobs.
  • Liaise empathetically and effectively with insurance assessors, homeowners and building sub-contractors.
  • Provide oversight and direction to tradespersons, as required.
  • Work with the Subcontractor Management team to assist in developing and managing CRA's Subcontractor base.
  • Be responsible for job-related WHS direction, support, and information.
  • Be responsible for meeting budget and contractual Key Performance Indicators.
  • Collaborate with all members of the community to create a positive impact.
  • Some out of hours work may be required.

Key criteria

Knowledge/Qualifications/Licences:

  • Essential: Recent proven experience in a similar role in the building industry.
  • Essential: Current White Card, National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain) and current unrestricted driver's licence.
  • Essential: A trade qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Desirable: Experience in the residential insurance repair industry.
  • Desirable: Supervisor's registration is a definite advantage.

Skills/Experience:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • The ability to oversee insurance repair jobs in residential settings.
  • The ability to empathetically and effectively liaise with a wide range of people, and a strong focus on quality customer service outcomes.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage caseloads within strict KPI time frames.
  • Advanced verbal and written skills, including the ability to draft reports and correspondence.
  • Proficient technology skills, including the use of various computer software and portal-based technologies.
  • An understanding of the Building Code of Australia.
  • Ability to maintain safe work practices in line with WHS policies and procedures through an understanding of the Work Health Safety Act
  • A commitment to life-long learning, ongoing professional education, and training.
