Sussex Neighbourhood House Inc. (SNH) has been a cornerstone of the Pascoe Vale community since 1991, providing a welcoming hub for lifelong learning, social activities, and community support. With over 70 diverse programs, 1,900 annual enrolments, and the dedication of 100+ volunteers, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and connected community.
We are seeking passionate volunteers to join our Committee of Governance, working closely with our management team to ensure SNH remains a thriving and accessible space for all.
Treasurer Position - Key Opportunity
We are particularly looking for a Treasurer to bring financial oversight and strategic insight to the Committee. This role involves collaborating with fellow committee members and staff to ensure sound financial management, sustainability, and growth of SNH's community programs. If you have financial, accounting, governance experience, or a keen interest in learning we'd love to hear from you
Treasurer Responsibilities
- Attend bi-monthly Committee of Governance meetings to provide strategic direction and oversight.
- Support SNH's financial governance, budgeting, and reporting (with staff assistance).
- Help shape the future of SNH as a welcoming, inclusive, and impactful community hub.
Secretary Position - Key Opportunity
We are also seeking a Secretary to ensure smooth governance processes and effective communication within the Committee. This role is essential in supporting transparency, compliance, and coordination across our activities.
Treasurer Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and relevant documents.
- Maintain accurate records of Committee business and decisions.
- Ensure compliance with governance requirements, including filing obligations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Committee correspondence.
