EL 1 Senior Policy Analyst

  • Contract until EOFY with contract extension option
  • Role based in Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney
  • Baseline clearance required

The Role

Are you an experienced Senior Policy Analyst with strong analytical skills with experience in interpreting complex financial and legal information? Do you have a demonstrated understanding of corporate structures, tax arrangements, and regulatory environments?

Do you have a baseline clearance and based in Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney?

Duties

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of complex and varied business structures, including corporate groupings, trusts, and other arrangements.
  • Identify and interpret the strategic, financial, and operational drivers behind entity structuring decisions.
  • Assess the implications of these structures on current and future policy settings, especially regarding eligibility criteria.
  • Collaborate with legal, financial, and policy experts to ensure a holistic understanding of business arrangements.
  • Develop evidence-based policy recommendations that promote fairness, integrity, and sustainability.
  • Prepare high-quality briefing materials, reports, and presentations for senior executives and stakeholders.

Do You Have?

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in interpreting complex financial and legal information.
  • Demonstrated understanding of corporate structures, tax arrangements, and regulatory environments.
  • Proven ability to translate technical analysis into clear, actionable policy advice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a policy development, regulatory, or compliance environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree in law, finance, economics, commerce, public policy, or a related field.
  • Experience in government policy development or regulatory analysis.
