Contract Specialist

M2P Engineering

Teneriffe, Brisbane

Full Time

As our valued Contract Specialist, you will play a vital part in leading the full contract lifecycle from tender through execution and close-out, ensuring M2P's commercial and legal position is protected and contract governance frameworks are maintained to audit standards. Based onsite at Teneriffe, you'll draw on your expertise in contract management, legal frameworks, and risk mitigation to ensure clarity, compliance, and successful project delivery.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Lead and manage contract lifecycle – drafting, negotiating, executing, and managing subcontractor agreements aligned with M2P's commercial risk profile
  • Maintain and improve contract templates, schedules, and risk allocation models in collaboration with Legal and Commercial teams
  • Develop project-specific Contract Summaries and Handover Packs to guide operational teams on scope, deliverables, and risks
  • Coordinate NDAs and liaise with legal on bespoke agreements, amendments, and compliance issues
  • Maintain an accurate contract register and support audit readiness, governance, and reporting requirements
  • Mentor Contract Administrators and project teams on contract interpretation, risk allocation, and compliance obligations
  • Support commercial reporting, claims administration, and tender control activities
  • Provide succession coverage for key tender and contract administration roles when required

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in contract management within engineering, construction, or mining sectors
  • Strong knowledge of contract terms, subcontractor agreements, and compliance frameworks
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, engineering, construction, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Experience with tender controls, commercial risk evaluation, and claims administration
  • Exposure to mining, industrial, or infrastructure projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Why M2P Engineering?

We've come a long way since starting out in 2017.

Right from the beginning, we brought a different approach to engineering construction in the mining, industrial and marine sectors. A better way, built on smarter thinking and real care – about the job, the client and the team.

First, we punched above our weight. Now, we're up there, toe to toe with the biggest and oldest in the industry. And we're proud to compete and win.

So, what can you expect from a career with us?

Well, it's about three things:

  • Work. The way it should be. We take pride in quality work, completed to spec and on time. Things can't always go according to plan, of course, but we're proud to exceed expectations and deliver on what we promise.
  • Your career. The way it should be. With so many interesting projects to get stuck into, there's ongoing work and a stable future here. Just give it a solid go, do the job well, and we'll look after you.
  • A real team. The way it should be. You'll work shoulder to shoulder with an honest, reliable and respectful team. We're mates looking after mates, and when the going gets tough, that's when we step up for you the most.

You'll also enjoy a range of other benefits:

  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program
  • Opportunities for professional development and training
  • Flexible working arrangements where possible
  • Exposure to diverse, high-profile engineering and construction projects
