Our product technologies range from gaseous suppression, water mist, foam suppression, specialised fire detection and microenvironment systems. Our products and services are aligned to critical industries including, industrial, commercial, petrochem, infrastructure, marine, mining, military & defence, transport making this role unique and exciting.

Role Purpose

This role is structured to support career progression from Estimator to Product Manager, with mentoring, training, and increasing responsibility over time.

The Estimator will assist in preparing cost estimates and proposals for pre-engineered fire protection systems, while gaining exposure to product lifecycle activities, supplier engagement, and market analysis. Pre-Engineered fire protection systems include Wet Chemical and Watermist Kitchen Suppression systems, marine fire protection systems, Aerosol fire protection systems, vehicle systems and micro environment systems amongst others. With structured mentoring and training, this role provides a development pathway into a Product Manager position within the fire protection domain.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents for fire protection projects.
  • Perform basic preliminary cost estimates under supervision.
  • Support the preparation of bid proposals, including inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications( Training & mentorship will be provided )
  • Learn to interpret fire protection standards and follow designs as per the installation manual
  • Participate in product training sessions with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with Sales, and Product Managers to understand customer needs and product capabilities.

Competencies and experience

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical or any engineering related field (Desirable)
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence (Preferred)
  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read drawings and design basics.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; willingness to learn estimating software

  • Aptitude for learning product-specific programs and technical manuals

  • Eagerness to develop into a Product Management role which will involve client relationship management and a sales budget.
