We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to join our Engineering team in Melbourne.

This listed Australian Engineering organisation delivers a range of design, build, install and maintain projects within Australia and across the world.

The group has multiple business units, all committed to the protection of the environment by improving air quality, reducing carbon emissions, enhancing waste to energy production and lifting water quality.

The company designs, fabricates, installs and maintains Inlet and Exhaust systems for Gas Turbines, has a range of technologies which reduce dust, odours and harmful gasses from the environment and specialises in the design, build and maintenance of air pollution control technologies, including Wet Scrubbers, Bag Filters and Electrostatic Precipitators. The company also delivers tailored energy projects and provide boiler, burner & system audits and upgrades, plus has a developing expertise in the treatment of Waste and Contaminated Water.

About you…

The successful candidate will hold at least a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with at least 3 years' experience with a focus on mechanical design using Autodesk product design package, specifically Autodesk Inventor and Vault.

Ideally we are looking for someone with experience in mechanical design & drafting within the power/process/heavy industries.

It will be advantageous to:

  • Have design experience coupled with hands on experience
  • Have years of experience working with complex systems and large assemblies of more then 10,000 parts. You should be familiar with various 3D modelling and 2D drafting techniques included the use of iLogic and working with multi-bodied solids (MBS).

We are looking for a self-motivated team player with an understanding of engineering principals. Candidate with a high level interpersonal, effective communication skills and a second language is highly regarded. Successful applicants must be open to travel overseas since this role might involve some overseas travelling.
