The Role

We're seeking a skilled and motivated Yard Manager/Lead Loader Operator to take ownership of operations at our busy Belrose yard. This role combines hands-on machinery work with leadership responsibility for managing stock, customer service, and ensuring a safe and efficient workplace.

As the Yard Manager, you will play a key role in delivering excellent service to our trade and retail customers while maintaining strong operational standards.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee day-to-day yard operations.
  • Safely operate loaders and forklifts to load customer and delivery vehicles.
  • Supervise, train, and lead yard staff to ensure productivity and teamwork.
  • Monitor stock levels, coordinate ordering, and manage stock rotation.
  • Liaise with drivers, office staff, and management to ensure smooth delivery scheduling.
  • Maintain compliance with safety procedures and workplace standards.
  • Ensure the yard is always safe, clean, and well organised.

Essential Requirements
  • Current LF Forklift Licence and/or Loader certification.
  • Proven experience in a yard, logistics, or construction supply environment.
  • Strong leadership or supervisory background.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in an outdoor, fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliability, responsibility, and customer focus.
