About Us: 

Our Projects and Development Services (PDS) team provide corporate and institutional clients with the management of design, construction, and relocation services to minimise risk and eliminate unnecessary cost.

Projects range from greenfield developments to major fit outs and refurbishments, from single one-off projects to state, national multi-site and regional roll-out projects requiring consistent nationwide delivery. 

As one of the largest project management firms in Australia with a team of over 320 professional staff, we operate in sectors including commercial, industrial, education, data centres, hotels, retail, and defence. 

About the role:

 As a Senior Project Manager (SPM) you will be expected to contribute independently the tasks below. This means as a SPM you demonstrate a high familiarity with the subject matter and are able to produce these deliverables with no guidance from senior team members. Senior Project Managers are able to validate and oversee deliverables produced by Project Coordinators, Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers. It is expected a SPM manages between 5-8 projects at various stages.

As the Senior Project Manager, you are expected to take total responsibility for the effective management of all phases of a project (or projects) from initial establishment to handover and project closure of your projects as well as any persons you manage. The role requires coordinating thought and leadership skills to encourage maximum contributions of all participants in the project and focus these to maximise outcomes for all stakeholders.

About you: 

As a Senior Project Manager, you have a responsibility as a leader to contribute to the development of less experienced colleagues through mentoring and coaching in all aspects of project management.

Someone who can confidently manage project delivery from inception to closure with an ability to assist in the commercial assessment of new projects and in the preparation of project proposals and the delivery of presentations. 

You will have proven negotiation skills with both internal and external groups including contractors, suppliers, consultants, and authorities and have the emotional maturity to effectively manage diverse personalities.

An understanding of the legal environment for each project in respect of planning, commercial aspects and delivery constraints is essential as well as our obligations for complying with AS 4801, AS 14001 and Environmental Health and Safety legislation generally.

Requirements:

  • Lead and manage highly complex and technical data centre projects
  • Technical understanding of data centre infrastructure – Electrical, mechanical, generators, fire, security, BMS
  • Engineering background preferrable
  • Minimum of 7 years experience
  • Ability to thrive in high pressure face paced environment
  • Client driven
