WHO ARE WE?

The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation ('BCF') is one of Sydney's most trusted frontline charities and has been supporting the community for nearly 40 years. Our mission is to address homelessness and hardship by delivering essential services including food, social welfare, healthcare, education and community programs.

Our work is grounded in dignity, compassion and safety. We are committed to ethical storytelling that respects the people we serve while raising awareness of the realities facing our community.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a motivated and creative Junior Content Creator / Social Media Support to join the Office of Bill Crews and support our Brand and Communications function.

The role is available on a full-time or part-time basis, with flexibility across four or five days. Availability for weekend work and special events is required, including content capture at key programs and community events.

As part of the application process, applicants must be willing to provide a portfolio of relevant work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Assist with scheduling and publishing content across social media platforms
  • Support the maintenance of content calendars and meet publication deadlines
  • Monitor comments, messages and basic engagement metrics and escalate as required
  • Support approved content capture at events and activities, including occasional weekend work
  • Apply brand guidelines, tone and visual standards consistently across all outputs
  • Submit content for review and implement feedback in a timely and professional manner
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to source content under direction

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You are an early-career content professional who is organised, reliable and eager to learn. You take direction well, meet deadlines and understand the importance of respectful and ethical storytelling in a community services environment.

You will also bring:

  • Demonstrated interest or early experience in content creation or social media
  • Basic graphic design skills using tools such as Canva
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Basic video editing skills for digital platforms
  • Some experience using a DSLR camera or willingness to learn
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and special events
  • A respectful and person-centred approach aligned with BCF's mission and values

Tertiary study or qualifications in marketing, communications, media or a related field are desirable but not essential.

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS

If your application is shortlisted, the next steps may include:

  • A phone screen
  • An interview
  • Review of your portfolio
  • A brief practical discussion or task related to content creation

We aim to make the process clear, respectful and supportive while giving you a realistic understanding of the role and environment.

WHY JOIN US?

At BCF, you will be part of a purpose-driven organisation where your work directly contributes to community impact.

We offer:

  • Not-for-Profit Salary Packaging benefits (up to $15,900 tax-free)
  • Professional development and learning opportunities
  • Employee Assistance Program ('EAP')
