About the Role
As the Community Programs Coordinator, you will be an enthusiastic and motivated coordinator who has a passion for utilising sport to create positive social impact. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage, engage and support schools to participate in the Carlton Respects Road to Respect school program. Road to Respect is a free, digital-learning platform and face-to-face program for primary school students in Grades 3 to 6, building knowledge and skills to challenge pre-existing gender stereotypes, manage emotions, build communication skills and create positive, equal and respectful relationships.
In addition, you will support the implementation of the Carlton Respects campaign strategy through a diversity of projects including internal capacity building workshops and seminars, campaign working group activities, and building online engagement and storytelling.
You will also have the opportunity to help the Club implement charity partnership initiatives such as the Peter MacCallum Cup, Good Friday Appeal, FightMND and All Inclusive Life all-abilities program.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage program operations including targeted promotion, outbound communication and relationship building with schools to encourage school-led facilitation of Road to Respect.
- Build relationships with schools to ensure the program is accessible, meets needs and engages with schools across all terms.
- Collaborate with the Carlton Respects Senior Educator to collate and report on quantitative and qualitative data, ensuring the program achieves set targets.
- Utilise and manage the Road to Respect CRM platform,
- Assist with updates and edits to the Road to Respect platform.
- General administrative support of the program, including updating feedback forms, design briefs for communication assets, scheduling paid advertising and sourcing classroom resources and incentives.
- Support the Carlton Respects Senior Educator to deliver relevant events including teacher PD days and school challenges.
- Coordinate, book and attend teacher conferences to help promote Road to Respect.
- Support the Carlton Respects Senior Educator to facilitate Carlton-led Road to Respect sessions in classrooms.
- Support the Community Programs Manager to plan, implement and review the Carlton Respects campaign strategy, activities including administration and delivery of key activities within the Carlton Respects Working Group, manage Carlton Respects merchandise for staff, players and external stakeholders, and coordinate game day activities and activations.
- Support the communication and delivery of Carlton Respects Workplace Charter events and activities.
- Support the development and delivery of pilot Carlton Respects programs.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of the Club's key social impact and charity relationships; Peter MacCallum Cup, Good Friday Appeal, FightMND and All Inclusive Life.
- Manage charity MOUs and implement agreement actions and requirements.
- Deliver relevant activities and activations at charity specific games and events.
- Create strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver actions and communicate objectives and outcomes.
- Manage the Carlton Community intern, providing direction, feedback and support.
- Provide general support to the Community team with arranging team signed guernseys, resources and merchandise utilised in all Community program areas.
- Support Community related activities and activations at AFL and AFLW games, programs and events.
- Manage the Community email account, responding to queries in a timely and considered manner.
Experience, Skills and Attributes
- Qualifications in community development, project management, community services, or equivalent.
- Experience working within community or social impact program design, delivery and evaluation.
- Understanding of the contributing factors and value of prevention in reducing the risk of violence against women.
- Previous experience working within gender equity and/or prevention of violence against women sector is preferable but not required.
- Experienced facilitating or delivering programs targeted at primary school students (Grades 3 – 6)
- Knowledge of the education sector and experience engaging with schools.
- Excellent administration and project management skills.
- Experience working within a shared value and community development framework.
- Capacity to work with diverse stakeholders to create greater engagement with Carlton Football Club.
- Prior experience or skill in graphic or communication design would be advantageous.
- Strong professional and personal impact, operating with integrity in all day-to-day dealings.
- A passion and alignment with Carlton Respects' goal and vision to play a role in achieving a brighter future, free from violence.
- Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to operate as part of both small and large teams.
- An enthusiastic and adaptable attitude, excited to take on a variety of tasks.
- Proven ability to deal with and produce strong results with internal and external stakeholders.
- A sound level of competency both written and verbal communications and an intermediate level of computer literacy.
