Job Description
- Permanent, Full Time
The Student Engagement Officer supports the design, delivery and evaluation of initiatives that enhance the student experience across the student lifecycle. This role helps build a positive, inclusive and connected student community by coordinating events, programs, student governance and communications.
Working closely with the Student Engagement and Wellbeing Team Leader and other internal stakeholders, the role ensures all initiatives are accessible, student-centred and aligned with Acknowledge Education (AE) and International College of Hotel Management (ICHM) priorities.
- Coordinate and deliver engagement programs, campaigns and events that foster belonging and connection.
- Support the Student Representative Council (SRC) nationally, including meetings, governance and communication with students.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure initiatives are inclusive, engaging and aligned with student needs.
- Maintain and update student resources such as the Student Handbook, Student Hub and newsletters.
- Assist with alumni engagement and student success initiatives.
- Identify emerging student needs and contribute ideas for new initiatives.
- Ensure engagement activities comply with institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and report on participation, feedback and outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engagement activities across campuses.
Qualifications
Candidate Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in education, communications, events management, student services, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in student engagement, events coordination, or program delivery within education or a related sector.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating events, campaigns, or communication activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse student cohorts.
- High level of organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships across teams and campuses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience supporting student governance structures such as SRC or equivalent.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks relevant to VET and Higher Education (TEQSA, ASQA, ESOS Act).
- Experience producing student-facing content across multiple platforms.
- Commitment to reconciliation, diversity, equity and inclusion in student engagement activities.
- Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends for events.
- Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
