GRIFFIN COAL

The Griffin Coal Mining Company is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Finance team.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will work at Griffin Coal's Ewington Minesite in Collie to support the financial and accounting operations of the business.

In this role your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Co-ordinating finance systems to ensure timely and accurate production of accounts and reports including;
    - monthly management reporting;
    - project and funding specific audited accounts; and
    - end of year accounts.

  • Liaison with site departments to develop budgets and monitor expenses.

  • Monitoring project costs against approved budgets, identifying potential variances and working with site-based teams to take corrective actions;

  • Ensuring supplier payments are made in line with agreed terms and conditions; and

  • Supporting the annual audit process and developing strategies to address any issues arising from audit.

EXPERIENCE

The preferred candidate will have:

  • A tertiary degree in a finance or accounting discipline;

  • 2 to 5 years' experience in an accounting role;

  • Demonstrated experience within the mining / resources sector; and

  • Proficiency in Pronto ERP software.

THE LOCATION & LIFESTYLE

Griffin Coal Mine is located near Collie, a town which is located 45 minutes from the coastal city of Bunbury and 2.5 hours from the capital city of Perth, Western Australia. This is a residential role and as such no relocation package is being offered.
