Accounts Officer

Chrysalis Montessori School is an independent school offering curriculum based on the Montessori philosophy for year olds. Chrysalis is 10 minutes from the city centre and is located next to parklands and the Herdsman wetlands. Chrysalis is seeking an accounts officer part time hours per week). To perform financial and administrative duties in a manner that supports the welcoming and nurturing environment of Chrysalis Montessori School. The Accounts Officer is responsible for end-to-end financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general bookkeeping functions.

The position description of key responsibilities and duties are:

Payroll and HR Support

• Process fortnightly payroll and superannuation for staff members

• Assist with HR documentation and maintain personnel records

Accounts and Bookkeeping

• Manage daily bookkeeping tasks including accurate data entry

• Handle accounts receivable and payable

• Maintain up to date financial records

• Perform monthly account reconciliations using MYOB accounting software

Administrative Duties

• Photocopy and scan documents for filing

• End of year record archiving

• Maintenance Reports

• Perform general administrative and financial support tasks

Essential criteria include:

• Demonstrated experience in accounting / bookkeeping and payroll, minimum of 8-10 years experience

• Proficiency in using MYOB accounting software

• Knowledge of financial control processes and standard accounting procedures

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Strong time management and multitasking abilities

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• sound computing skills across standard office applications

Desirable Criteria include:

• Experience in education or community related environments is desirable but not essential

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to enhance cost effectiveness and operational efficiency

• Suggest and implement improvements to financial and administrative procedures
