About the Role

As the
PMO Lead
based in Melbourne (Docklands), you will establish and embed a
fit-for-purpose PMO function from the ground up
. This standalone role will give you full ownership of methodology, governance, and reporting frameworks, working closely with senior leadership and coordinating across business-critical workstreams, including
HSE, People & Culture, Technology, Operations, and Commercial
.

This is a
12-month fixed-term contract
with potential for extension, offering high visibility and direct access to strategy leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the PMO function, setting governance, reporting, and risk management frameworks.
  • Drive readiness and mobilisation activities, then support execution through delivery.
  • Uplift project tooling (transitioning from MS Planner to MS Project / Azure DevOps).
  • Coordinate across multiple project workstreams to ensure alignment and visibility.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Provide accurate, timely reporting to leadership, ensuring risks and issues are proactively managed.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of
    setting up PMOs from scratch
    .
  • Strong experience in governance, reporting, and risk management.
  • Ability to design and embed processes and frameworks in fast-moving environments.
  • Background in retail operations or similar complex industries (fuel retail a plus).

Required Skills

  • Resilient, self-sufficient, and delivery-focused.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Experience with project tools such as
    MS Project, Azure DevOps, and MS Planner
    .
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and deliver under tight timelines.

Preferred Skills

  • Industry experience in
    fuel retail or large-scale retail operations
    .
  • Exposure to ANZ-wide programs or cross-border project delivery.
  • Familiarity with establishing reporting frameworks for executive-level stakeholders.
