PartMaker has a vacancy for a permanent fulltime Machinist or Apprentice at their business located in Heidelberg West.

PartMaker specialises in the design, manufacture and assembly of high-quality precision components. We are currently focussing on the Dental and Maxillofacial Prosthetic sectors.

PartMaker provides our customers with bespoke solutions that are not otherwise commercially available.

Job Description

The successful applicant will be expected to carry out the following duties

  • Setup and operation and possibly NC programming
  • Control production documents
  • Prepare and manage engineering drawings for machining
  • The applicant should be enthusiastic, hardworking, trainable, and with a 'can-do' attitude. As the customers of PartMaker are in the biomedical sector, a neat and professional presentation is important.
  • The position is based on a standard 76 hour fortnight and involves minimal or no "after hours" .

Skills:

  • Operation of bar-fed lathes, especially Swiss style
  • Capable of using basic metrology equipment
  • Familiar with 3D CAD modelling and basic computer software - Experience with Solidworks an advantage
  • Very good communication skills- written and verbal
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001/13485 experience an advantage)
  • High attention to detail

Duties:

  • Setup and operation and possibly NC programming

  • Prepare and manage engineering drawings for machining

Qualifications and Experience

To qualify this position, you will have

  • AQF Certificate III as a Metal Machinist (First Class) or equivalent or relevant experience
  • Minimum 1 year experience

Remuneration

$70,000 to $75,000 per annum

Remuneration will reflect current market conditions and industry award rates. To be discussed with the successful applicant.
