Wood Machinist

We design and manufacture award-winning retail fit-outs, commercial interiors, product displays, corporate events, and exhibitions around Australia and internationally. We are currently seeking an energetic, self-motivated, experienced, and reliable Wood Machinist / CNC Operator.

Qualifications & experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in CNC operating and machine setup procedures.
• Experience in operating edge banders.
• Current forklift licence (preferred for material handling duties)

Tasks & responsibilities

• Maintain and operate Biesse Rover A CNC machine and other cutting and sanding machines for planing, turning, shaping, and sanding
• Set up and operate the Edge Bander machine
• Set up and operate the Altendorf saw
• Operate jigsaw
• Interpret drawings and configure machinery to achieve precise specifications
• Ensure minimal material wastage
• Identify and communicate to the Workshop Manager any foreseeable problems with the drawings
• Determine tooling and machine requirements and the sequence of operations
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving ability
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and delivery schedules
• Ensure a safe, clean, and efficient working environment
• Maintain and operate CNC machines to cut, plane, turn, shape, and sand work pieces.
