About the Team
You'll join our Project Delivery & Transformation team, a high performing group dedicated to driving strategic initiatives and delivering impactful outcomes across the enterprise. Our mission is to lead complex projects with precision and purpose, leveraging deep expertise, collaborative spirit, and a commitment to innovation. About the Role
As a Project Management Officer, you will play a pivotal role in leading and delivering complex projects that align with enterprise goals and client expectations. You'll be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing cross-functional initiatives, managing resources, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful outcomes. You will foster collaboration and innovation, while your mentoring will support the growth and development of project staff. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to the evolution of project delivery across the organisation.
What You'll Do
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects aligned with enterprise and client objectives, including detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
- Guide and support cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, driving accountability, and facilitating meetings and decision-making processes
- Apply project management methodologies and agile practices to ensure efficient delivery and champion continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks using robust risk management strategies
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and organisational policies
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including clients, senior leaders, and technical teams
- Prepare and present clear, comprehensive project documentation, reports, and updates
- Mentor and develop project staff, promoting growth and capability uplift across the team
What You'll Bring
- Eligibility and willingness to apply for a Defence Security Clearance
- Proven experience managing complex projects, ideally within defence, engineering, or technology sectors, with strong capability in developing and executing project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource strategies
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding cross-functional teams, mentoring project staff, and facilitating meetings, negotiations, and decision-making processes
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels and produce high-quality documentation, reports, and presentations that convey project insights
- Proficiency in industry-standard project management and agile tools, with a collaborative mindset focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and stakeholder satisfaction
- Strong analytical skills to identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Commitment to compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and governance frameworks
- Ability to work across diverse teams and environments, promoting alignment and accountability
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience
- Advanced certifications in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent) are highly desirable
