The Role

Reporting directly to the HR Manager, the HR Coordinator will be responsible for managing end-to-end recruitment processes, supporting HR policy and compliance, and contributing to people and culture initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgement, discretion, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes
  • Provide HR generalist support and advice in line with legislation and policy
  • Maintain and improve HR systems and documentation
  • Support payroll and compliance reporting
  • Coordinate internal events and wellness initiatives aligned with organisational values
  • Assist with audits, HR projects, and strategic initiatives

Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a generalist HR role with a strong focus on recruitment
  • Comprehensive understanding of Australian employment law and HR best practice
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the confidentiality and advisory "balance" requirements of the role
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Commitment to child safety and compliance with WWCC legislation

Desirable Criteria:

  • Working knowledge of Employment Hero
  • Experience in the sport/not-for-profit industry would be highly regarded
  • Experience working with Aboriginal people, including a demonstrated ability to communicate and engage sensitively and effectively
  • Knowledge of the social and cultural issues that Aboriginal people experience along with a genuine appreciation and respect for culture.

Hours of Work

This role is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week on a max term contract to cover a 12 month period of parental leave with a possibility of extension, commencing January 2026.
