We are seeking an entry level construction estimator to join our growing business. We are seeking a team player who is enthusiastic, willing to learn, has a sound of construction and with strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills. Knowledge in the use of Cubits and MS Projects is preferred.

This role provides an excellent opportunity and pathway for career progression and skill development through mentorship and on the job training.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Entry Level Construction Estimator located in Rockdale, NSW. The role involves preparing quantity take-offs, assisting in cost management, and budgeting for various construction projects. The Construction Estimator will work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate project estimates and effective communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Collaboration:

Work closely with senior estimator, project managers and other key stakeholder. The ability to work effectively as part of a team is key.

Analyse project documentation:

Interpret architectural plans, specifications, and other project documents to understand the scope and requirements of the construction project.

Prepare quantity take-offs:

Perform detailed take-offs to quantify materials, labour, and other resources needed for the project.

Develop cost estimates:

Calculate the estimated costs for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractors.

Manage subcontractor and material inquiries:

Prepare and send out requests for quotations (RFQs) to subcontractors and suppliers.

Review bids and quotes:

Evaluate and compare subcontractor and vendor proposals to ensure they align with the project's needs and budget.

Assist in preparing tenders and BOQs:

Support the creation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and other commercial aspects of tender submissions to clients.

Database management:

Keep accurate records of cost estimates, quotations, and project documents for future reference and project follow-up. In addition keeping pricing database up to date to ensure accurate costings
