The Housing Outcomes and Partnerships Branch has a VPS 4 Contract Administrator role available in the Community Housing Partnerships Unit. The role contributes to a variety of complex projects throughout the delivery phase for new social and affordable housing.

The Contract Administrator will be responsible for supporting the Community Housing Partnerships Unit, Delivery Team in the administration of contracts (including State Contribution Agreements and Funding Deeds) from contract execution to contract end date. This will include but not be limited to projects within the Social Housing Growth Fund and the Affordable Housing Partnerships Program.

This role plays an important part in supporting the Delivery Team in delivering the Government's agenda of substantially increasing social and affordable housing in Victoria.

Selection criteria

Knowledge and skills

  1. Written communication
    : Prepares briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language; ensures written communications contain necessary information to achieve their purpose; uses appropriate templates, style and formats.
  2. Problem solving
    : Seeks all relevant information for problem solving; investigates and probes for the facts; liaises with stakeholders; analyses issues from different perspectives and draws sound inferences from information available; identifies and proposes workable solutions to problems.
  3. Contract management
    : Understands and applies the organisation's procurement framework, drafts documentation to support contract management, liaises closely with Contractors and suppliers and reports on day-to-day issues as they arise.
  4. Advanced computer skills
    : Skills in the use of the Microsoft suite of software, including MS-Excel including charts creation, maintain data sets, build pivot tables, MS-Word and MS-Power-point. Familiar with information management systems. Demonstrated aptitude to learn new applications.
  5. Verbal communication
    : Explains concepts clearly and develops effective presentations, builds rapport and addresses underlying motivations and issues.
  6. Stakeholder management
    : Establishes relationships with stakeholders, develops effective stakeholder-oriented responses, and assesses, develops and negotiates innovative solutions to complex issues.
  7. Self-management
    : Plans and prioritises work to ensure outcomes are achieved; resists the temptation to react immediately without taking time to contemplate; uses strengths to contribute constructively and consciously manages the impact of own weaknesses; anticipates own reactions to situations and prepares accordingly.
