About the Opportunity

This is your chance to lead a team in the delivery of essential services that have a positive impact on South Australian's. Our Advice and Conciliation Branch within Consumer & Business Services is seeking a leader who can inspire, mentor and guide their team in the provision of expert consumer affairs and residential tenancy advice. Reporting to the Manager, Advice and Conciliation, the Team Leader Advice oversees the Advice team, which delivers accurate and timely advice in relation to a wide range of legislation. A significant amount of this advice is provided over the telephone, requiring the Team Leader to ensure service levels are met through efficient, consistent and informed guidance.

The Team Leader also supports the Manager with complex advice regarding legislation and administration of matters received by CBS. They will be involved in monitoring service levels using real-time and historical data and are expected to provide coaching and oversight to senior officers ensuring consistency and appropriate advice and assistance is provided. The Team Leader Advice also has a strong legislative focus and will regularly support their team in interpreting, administering and providing advice on relevant matters.

  • Experience coordinating and leading a team within a fast-paced high-volume environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to use real-time and historical data to inform decision making and staff rostering.

  • Demonstrated experience interpreting, administering and/or providing expert advice on legislation, or ability to gain this knowledge quickly.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to tailor communication to suit the intended audience.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative as it relates to dealing with complex customer issues.

  • Strong ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and competing pressures. - Experience leading a team in a call centre environment (desirable).
