About the Role

We seek a Compliance Officer to join our Early Learning management team. This new role supports our commitment to delivering exceptional early childhood education by guiding regulatory compliance, supporting staff development, and driving quality outcomes across our early learning centres.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Business Operations Manager, Early Learning, to support the development, planning, and implementation of strategy, ensuring compliance is embedded in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Child Care Subsidy System, child safety legislation, and other relevant laws and policies, and provide advice and support to ensure the organisation consistently meets its legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead the review and monitoring of compliance activities, including maintaining accurate records and conducting regular internal audits, as well as identify areas for improvement and escalate issues as needed to strengthen compliance and quality outcomes across Early Learning Centres.
  • Design and implement practical tools and strategies that enable Early Learning Centres to meet compliance requirements while maintaining a strong focus on meaningful, child-centred care and education.
  • Coordinate the development, review, and implementation of policies, procedures, and controlled documents, as well as ensure these reflect current legal and operational requirements and are developed in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes, providing timely updates and guidance to management and Centre Managers, as well as prepare insightful reports on compliance and safety trends to inform decision-making.
  • Contribute to risk assessment and incident review processes, identifying patterns and implementing mitigation strategies to reduce future risks and enhance safety.
  • Deliver or coordinate compliance-related training and act as a trusted resource for staff seeking guidance on regulatory and policy matters.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams across Early Learning and , the broader University, and external partners to support service delivery and enhance program offerings across all Early Learning Centres.
  • Represent the organisation in external networks, committees, and professional forums to stay informed of sector developments and share best practices.
  • Partner with the Early Learning management team to support the development and implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that reflect the values of the organisation.

About You

Reporting into the Business Operations Manager, Early Learning, you will work closely with the Practice Innovation Manager and Centre Managers. You will be an experienced early childhood professional who values high quality early education and has a deep understanding of the regulatory frameworks and its application. You possess strong communication and change agent skills to champion compliance across multiple Early Learning Centres, embedding best practices into everyday operations.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience and strong attention to detail in conducting audits, analysing data, managing risk, and implementing policy frameworks in line with regulatory compliance.
  • Experience creating, implementing, and reviewing controlled documents to ensure centres comply with regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain respectful relationships with staff and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple centres.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and well-developed computer literacy skills.

Note: Work hours and location may vary from time to time to accommodate business needs, including attending evening events for Staff Meetings as required
